The Quick Blog Tips homepage does one thing: it shows you the latest posts from the blog. Great if you’ve been reading for a while, but not so good if you want to catch up.
Browsing by category or browsing by date can help a bit, but as more content is added, this quickly becomes unrealistic. Displaying a list of popular posts might help too. However, the main issue I have with all of those approaches is that a lot of content can go unseen.
Enter the Quick Start guide. Originally, this was a list of the best content across the whole blog. This doesn’t really work when the blog keeps growing. Ah, it would be so much simpler if I stopped posting!
Instead, this is now a list of category pages. The category pages do more than simply listing recent posts in each category. I’ve refreshed the layout and displayed 5 of the best posts from each category, alongside 5 of the most recent posts from the category. Towards the bottom of the page, there’s a link to view the regular category page provided by WordPress.
Hope you find the pages useful.
